It came out today, in Christianity Today and other places (Also their own ministry website https://www.rzim.org/read/rzim-updates/board-statement ), that it was true that world reknowned apologist Ravi Zacharias hid hundreds of photos of women and abuse during massages, and that there have been rape allegations against him. Yes, this will come as a shock to many out there. I would like to say, it really saddens me very much to hear this. But, even though it saddens me and comes as a shock, it is not a big surprise.
The problem is the lack of the true Gospel and deliverance. We ourselves have seen thousands of sincere Christians get free from their double lives and actually hate sin, when they heard the true Gospel – the Gospel that can set us free – but also a Gospel where we need to REPENT and then BURY our old life in water, and receive POWER to live this new life by the baptism of the Holy Spirit!
If we don’t have all of this, this is what will happen! I’ve seen it again and again! But, I have also seen, again and again, how Christians and Christian leaders have experienced TRUE FREEDOM after understanding that it’s not enough to just repent. You also need the power of the true baptism in water and with the Holy Spirit in order to OVERCOME sin! And then you need to continue in Christ, with the fear of God in your life! Yes the true Gospel, together with deliverance, is what the church needs!
Yes, sadly we see today that many don’t cast out demons anymore. If we don’t do that, people will not experience the freedom! We will see many more like Ravi Zacharias, until that day we stop preaching a half-Gospel, and again start casting out demons! Yes, sadly there are millions of people like him out there right now in our churches and on our platforms.
I will say to you, Jesus came to save you from your sin! There is freedom in Him! But you will only find this freedom in the full Gospel, where baptism is not just a symbol and needs to come after true repentance, not before – and where baptism with the Holy Spirit is not only for a few, or “comes automatically when you believe.”
It’s time to wake up and come back to the true Gospel – the Gospel that has power to save people from their sins and make everything new!
