What a holiday!
My brother-in-law died on June 2, 2020. As a result, my mother-in-law came for the funeral and stayed to help for a month or so. We took her back home, 600km from Mossel Bay. About 30km into the trip I found that the clutch of my car had broken. They wanted to turn back, but I decided to keep driving – but now with only one gear (that made for quite an interesting trip!). We made it. I wanted to return the same way, but it didn’t take much convincing to borrow my mother-in-laws’ car. My brother-in-law knew a good mechanic in town and he offered to get a quote for me. We got home and I told some friends of mine what had happened. I got the quote and it was way more than I could afford. I didn’t know how I was going to pay, so I just let the car stay at my mother’s house until I could make a plan. A couple of weeks later my friend called me. I play tennis with him and waited for him to set a time, but he didn’t talk about tennis. Instead he asked me for news on my car. I told him it still hasn’t gone in for repairs and he asked the cost. I told him. He told me to take the car in for repairs. I laughed and said I would. That is when he said: “No, I mean, take it in now, I will pay for it.” I couldn’t believe it and didn’t know what to say. He told me the Lord had told him that I needed my car and that he should pay for it. I am so thankful! We went back there over the October break to visit and get my car. I asked my brother-in-law where this man’s shop was so that I could thank him, and on Monday went to him. I noticed that the fan of the car came on and stayed on all the time and that the air-temperature light was off. I told him and he told me to bring the car in on Tuesday. On Monday night I went to visit the lady who had cancer and when I got there, he was there too. While talking he mentioned that he had a shoulder problem, but I didn’t pick up on it. When I took the car to him the next day, I asked him about it and he told me that he had broken his collar bone very badly. Doctors had put a metal plate in his shoulder, but that his shoulder and arm hurts and burns all the time. I asked him if I could pray for him and he said: “Yes please, but while you are here, there is a lady that works in the office that has had severe pain in her feet for the last 3 years. They have already operated on her left foot but now the right foot is the same and her Achilles hurts so bad.” I told him to set a time. That whole week he couldn’t find the fault in my car, he phoned everywhere, searched the internet, but still he couldn’t identify what the problem was. On Thursday afternoon he asked if he could keep the car one more night, for he wanted to try one last thing on Friday morning. I told him: “Sure, but forget the car, when can we get together and pray for you?” He asked that I be at the workshop at 5 pm. After they’ve locked up, we went to his office. I talked to the lady first. Her pain was constant at a level of 8/10. I prayed for her 4 times, every time the pain was less. After the 4th time, she started to cry, walked around, and said that it was the first time in 3 years that she felt no pain. Glory to God!! When I asked my new friend how bad his arm and shoulder were on a scale of 1-10 he asked if he could give it 11? He said that while I was praying for the lady, the pain actually increased. He kept rubbing his right arm and said it burnt something fierce. I prayed for him and immediately he said that something miraculous happened. The pain was gone! When I left them, he said: “You know what, I believe your car had to break down so that we could meet. The Lord even asked somebody else to pay for the repairs, so that He could set us free today. I know your car will be fixed tomorrow – and it was! It has been an awesome week! Apart from my two new friends who got healed, we saw 5 people’s backs restored – their one leg was shorter than the other and God grew them out till they were perfect. One of the 5 was me. My daughter (10 years old) asked if my legs were the same length because I had  been complaing about my back after tennis. My right leg was shorter. She said: “Dad, can I pray for you?” That was so special!! My leg grew and she saw it! In total 10 people and a dog got healed that week. Now that is what I call a holiday! Our God deserves all the praise all the time! He is everywhere and knows the end from the beginning. He is in control of every situation and will make a plan to get people together in order to show them His love. Nothing is a coincidence!
