Let’s talk about eternity.
2 Corinthians 4:18 says to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
1 John 2:17 says the world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
This world is fading. So are we.
One day, everything we know will be gone. A vapor. A shadow. And many will look back with deep regret.
They will say, “Why didn’t I repent? Why didn’t I listen when I heard the gospel?” But by then it will be too late.
Do not let that be you.
Repent today while there is time. Follow Christ with your whole heart.
There is eternal judgment for those who reject the Son of God. But there is eternal life and reward for those who believe, receive His mercy, and follow Him.
Jesus warned of a man in Luke 12 who lived for himself. He tore down barns to build bigger ones. He thought he had time.
But God said to him, “You fool. This very night your soul will be required of you. Then who will own what you have prepared?”
And Jesus added, “So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”
Let this world go.
Set your heart on what lasts.
Matthew 6:19-21 tells us not to store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But to store up treasure in heaven. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Where is your treasure?
If your eyes are on the eternal, your life will follow.
If your eyes are on the fading things of earth, you will waste what little time you have.
Live for eternity.
